Ask when you need to
Have a question, something feels different, or you're not sure what to make of what's happening. Ask TIVA and think it through with guidance built on my clinical material.
Expert support shaped by my clinical work, intelligent personalised help when you need it, and a direct route to me for the moments that matter.
I know what it is like to hear a sound you didn't ask for and wonder what it means for your future. I also know what it is like to reach a point where it no longer runs your life.
Mine started in 2020, after a virus and a stretch of work stress, nine years into my career as an audiologist. I already knew what tinnitus was, in theory. I'd explained it to patients for years. But until it kept me awake at night, I didn't really understand it. Knowing something in theory and living with it are two different things.
You may have been told there is nothing medically wrong and nothing more that can be done. That can leave you with a very real question: what do I do now?
You may be asking why it's so loud. Why you can't stop noticing it. Why sleep is harder. Why you feel frightened of a sound. Nobody has answered those questions, because they're not ear questions.
They're questions that come up again and again in clinic. TIVA is where you can ask them, any time, and get an answer built on how I work with people.
Everything in TIVA is something I've used, and still use.
You don't need another thing to try. You don't need another promise that the sound will disappear. You need somewhere to come back to when tinnitus throws you off.
That's what TIVA is. A place to talk things through. A place to learn. A place to hear from me. A place to feel less alone with it. Built around a methodology, not a chatbot.
You don't have to follow a programme. You might want to understand your tinnitus. You might be struggling with a spike. You might have a question you can't stop thinking about. Or you might simply need somewhere to turn.
Have a question, something feels different, or you're not sure what to make of what's happening. Ask TIVA and think it through with guidance built on my clinical material.
When tinnitus gets louder, sleep changes, or something throws you off, TIVA helps you work out your next move.
Explore the things that can influence tinnitus and learn what helps you respond differently over time.
When you need more personal guidance, send me a question and I'll reply with a voice note.
You don't have to work it out on your own.
It's louder. I've lost all my progress. I can't stop listening to it. Last time this happened I panicked. I've forgotten what helped me before. Maybe I'm going backwards.
A difficult moment doesn't automatically mean something has gone wrong. Say what's happening, in your own words, "it's louder tonight and I don't know why", and TIVA helps you work through it, rather than assuming the worst. And when you need more than that, TIVA gives you a direct route to me.
You don't have to work out what to do on your own in the middle of a difficult moment. TIVA helps you think it through, one step at a time.
This is what you can try for free, before you decide whether to stay.
My tinnitus is suddenly much louder today. I thought I was doing well and now I feel like I've gone backwards.
A louder day can feel like going backwards. Checking your tinnitus tends to make louder moments feel bigger, so let's not assume that today's increase means you've lost your progress.
You don't need to solve the sound today. Step away from checking, return to what has helped you before, and give this moment some space.
What helped you the last time you had a difficult day like this?
An illustrative example, not an actual member conversation.
You don't need to keep working on your tinnitus. You need to know how to respond when it gets difficult.
Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is get on with your life, and give your brain the space to stop treating tinnitus as important. TIVA isn't something you need to use every day, or think about constantly, to get value from. You just need to know where to go if you need it. And when you do come back, your earlier conversations and saved insights are there.
TIVA isn't something you need to think about all the time. It's there so you can stop thinking about tinnitus all the time.
TIVA didn't start with AI. It started with years of clinical work, thousands of hours spent listening to people describe what tinnitus actually feels like to live with.
The questions that come up repeatedly. The moments that cause fear. The patterns that keep people stuck. The difference between understanding tinnitus and feeling safe enough to get on with your life.
My own experience of tinnitus shapes this too. I know what it's like to have it, and what it's like to reach a point where it no longer dictates your life. TIVA brings that clinical approach into a support system you can turn to whenever tinnitus catches you off guard.
The technology is new. The expertise behind it isn't.
In plain terms: education, actually understanding what's happening when tinnitus flares up. Neuroregulation, learning to respond differently in the moment instead of spiralling. Neuroplasticity, building steadier, more automatic patterns over time. None of it promises silence. All of it is aimed at tinnitus taking up less space in your life.
1 in 7 adults in the UK have tinnitus. This isn't a place to compare symptoms. It's somewhere to say what actually helped. Went on the trip anyway. Stopped checking. Had a bad night and carried on regardless. And when you're the one having a harder day, hearing that from someone else can do more than any reassurance ever does. Supporting another member on their bad day can be as good for you as it is for them.
See, in general terms, that what you're going through shows up for other members too, just the reassurance that this isn't only happening to you.
Full members can share and reply, under a chosen name or anonymously. I can see who is behind a post if I need to moderate.
You can hide the community feed whenever you want. Hiding it doesn't delete anything, and you can turn it back on any time. Some days you'll want to connect. Other days, not.
Greets you by name and asks what would help today, then gets you straight to Ask, Talk to Dr Gladys, the community, or the next TIVA Live session.
TIVA helps you get clear on what you're actually asking. Type it out, or tap the mic and just talk, always clearly marked as TIVA, never mistaken for Dr Gladys.
Type it or speak it, whichever's easier in the moment, send the summary, get a real voice message back from me.
Read a short note from me each week, and the wins other members share. Optional, and never social media.
Twice a month, send your question straight to me and get a personal voice reply, in my own voice. Unused replies don't roll over, so save them for when you want my view. I can't promise a set reply time.
Type or speak what's happening, any time, and TIVA works from my clinical material to help you land on your next step. Your past conversations are kept so you can go back to them. Always clearly marked as TIVA, never mistaken for Dr Gladys.
Live sessions with me on Zoom, open questions welcome. Replays are shared when available.
Optional and human, not social media. See that what you're going through isn't unusual, and hide it on the days you'd rather keep to yourself.
I'm a Clinical Doctor of Audiology, HCPC registered, and I've spent over a decade specialising in tinnitus and hyperacusis, drawing on CBT, mindfulness, ACT, and hearing amplification where it helps. What I noticed, sitting across from people in clinic, over and over, is that the hardest part usually wasn't the sound itself. It was everything that happened once the appointment ended, the questions that came up at 9pm with nowhere to take them.
I also look at tinnitus holistically, not just as an ear problem. I'm currently training toward a Level 5 diploma with the Health Coaches Academy, looking at the systems around the sound, metabolic health, inflammation, sleep, stress, everything that quietly shapes how loud it feels day to day. TIVA is my attempt to close that gap, without pretending an app can replace me.
And I have tinnitus myself. Everything in TIVA is something I've used, and still use. That's not a credential, but it does mean I'm not asking you to try anything I haven't.
Rebuild™ is my other programme, structured 1:1 work with me directly, separate from TIVA. Find out more about Rebuild™
On my clinical work, the same expertise TIVA is built on.
"Dr Gladys was the first professional who offered me both compassion and practical guidance after I was diagnosed with tinnitus. She gave me hope that I could live with a permanent sound in my head, and I now feel a lot more confident navigating my condition."
Samantha S., Google review"Of course I still have tinnitus, but I now have the tools and knowledge to manage it so much better. Bad days come and go much quicker and I now have hope, which is something I never thought was possible two years ago."
Mandy H., Google review"Her personable, compassionate, evidence informed practice is exactly what I needed in order to understand the context. She educated me about what it is and what I can do to find my life and confidence again."
Timothy W., Google reviewReal client reviews, shared publicly on Google. Lightly trimmed for length, wording unchanged.
You don't have to pay to find out if TIVA is right for you. Start free. If it earns a place in your week, join. If not, you've lost nothing.
TIVA is ongoing support you can turn to any day, not only the days you have an appointment booked. It doesn't replace seeing me or your own audiologist, and it sits alongside your clinical care.
They're useful for general information, but they don't know your history, and there's no way to tell if what you're reading is accurate for tinnitus specifically. TIVA is a membership, not just a chat window: your conversations kept, TIVA Live, a community, and a direct route to me.
Tinnitus UK's own research found people can wait up to three years for an NHS ENT appointment, and over a year for hearing aid or psychological support. TIVA doesn't replace that referral, and it isn't trying to skip a queue that exists for good reasons. It means you're not left with nothing while you wait.
You don't have to. Its value is being there when tinnitus takes up more mental space than you'd like, helping you work through what's happening, and building on what you've already learned rather than starting again each time. At £49 a month, that's a fraction of what my 1:1 Rebuild™ programme costs, for the months you're not ready for that level of commitment.
No. TIVA is coaching and general education, not a diagnostic or treatment service. It's designed to sit alongside your own clinical care, not replace it.
TIVA isn't a crisis service. If anything you say reads as genuine distress, you're shown crisis contacts straight away. If you are in immediate danger, call 999.
Yes. TIVA is for the question that comes after that sentence: what do I do now? It doesn't diagnose or treat. It helps you understand what's happening and how to respond when it's loud or frightening. It sits alongside your clinical care and doesn't replace it.
No. Once the tests are done and the questions are still there, it's a sensible time to ask for support. You don't need to have tried anything first.
No. Ask is AI, always clearly marked, and it works from my clinical material. Around it you get live sessions with me, a community you can hide, and two personal voice replies from me each month.
I can't promise that. TIVA is aimed at tinnitus taking up less space in your life, not at silence.
Free gives you a real taste: 20 Ask messages in total, enough to see whether TIVA actually helps, and you can read the community. TIVA at £49 a month is the complete membership: Ask without the Free limit, TIVA Live, the chance to take part in the community, and two personal voice replies from me a month.
Free gives you 20 Ask messages in total, enough to see how it responds to something real. It's a one-off allowance for the life of your account, so starting a new conversation doesn't add more. After that, joining TIVA removes the limit. If you've ever been a TIVA member and move back to Free, the Free allowance isn't renewed.
You can. But an unanswered question doesn't wait quietly, and every night you sit with it alone makes it harder to shake. TIVA is there whenever you need it, not tied to whenever your next slot happens to land, so you're not stuck waiting weeks for support with what's happening right now.
Your conversations are saved so you can return to them, and you can save helpful answers as Insights.
Yes, always, clearly stated. TIVA's conversational side is AI, working from my material, but it's never presented as being me, and the two are never blurred.
Ask is where you start for most things, and it doesn't stop once your two replies are used, it's there for everything else in the meantime. Your two personal replies are for when you specifically want my own take, and they don't roll over, so it's worth saving them for that. If you use both before the month's out, you can wait for next month's reset, or ask about Rebuild™, my more hands-on programme for people who want direct, sustained work with me.
TIVA is for adults aged 18 or over. It is currently set up for people in the UK.
No. Your data is never sold. It's used to run your membership and let me respond to you personally, and handled under UK data protection law. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
ChatGPT is a general-purpose chat window. TIVA is a membership built around your tinnitus specifically: conversations you can return to, built on my own clinical material, TIVA Live, a community that isn't about comparing symptoms, and a direct route to me. The AI is one part of that, not the whole thing.
No, not right now. Your conversations are private to you, and only used to run your membership. If that ever changes, for example to spot patterns across members and inform future research, we'll ask your permission first, not just tell you. You choose whether to opt in, and anything used is always anonymised.
